  It was recommended that we take our dog here to have his anal gland removal surgery, so we set up the appointment at the end of December, with his appointment for initial exam set for Jan. In the meantime, he hurt his wrist, so we brought it up at the appointment. He was given an x-ray and we were told he had a small bone chip, and must've fractured his wrist. He was given painkillers. Day of anal gland removal surgery, he was x-rayed again, (they tried to double charge for those,) and we were told they would drain the fluid from wrist, then send him on his way. He was given antibiotics and painkillers after surgery to last a few weeks. During the checkout we were offered Heartguard, and I mentioned that the last time he had it he had diarreah for 3 weeks- I didnt want to risk giving it to him after anal gland removal surgery, and the new medications he would be going home with. She responded with, "refusal to accept heartworm medication," and jotted it down aggressively in her notes.The way she said it was condescending- had a negative tone- treated us like we didnt care about his health.
  We took him to a check up about 10 days after his removal surgery, and brought up his wrist again. We mentioned that the swelling is gone, probably due to antibiotics, but he still limps periodically. We were told nothing more but just keep an eye on it. Anyway, we have paid thousands this year alone, had to find another vet, and vet specialist, have had a vet visit almost every 3 weeks since February, (trying to figure out if it was fracture, joint problems, infections, the chip of bone floating around, etc, with meds, before we had to pay almost 1000$ for his CT scan) Now his leg is going to have to be amputated. The fractured area is such a mess, that the 4000$+ carpel surgery that he could have, has no guarantee of long term recovery. I feel they blew off the wrist (a necessary surgery,) until we were done with the anal gland removal (elective surgery,) so they could try to get more money out of us. I think they let our dog suffer and struggle because they knew this would have to be handled eventually. I say that because I had to call them out each visit for trying to overcharge us for one thing or another. For example, one charge I missed was paying double for our other dog's ears to be cleaned- immediately after telling us it's only 22$. They decided to test the ear wax with out our consent, and charged us for it. We had already told them he had a "problem ear" and They didn't need to test it. They tried to double charge a few times for meds and xray... Now our family is dealing with financial hardship on top of our best friend LOSING HIS LEG. I did not deal with one vet here that had a good bedside manner, nor that seemed to care about anything more than racking up the bill as much as they were able. You shouldn't feel you have to have your "dukes up" ready to have to defend your pup's health and your wallet at the same time. This place makes going to the vet feel like you're going to a greasy car dealership. If you want to gamble with your pet's well being and feel like you've been "taken" each time you go, then this is the place. If not , keep looking for a good vet. They're out there.

  I was recently in need of a new veterinarian and decided on Randall Road Animal Hospital. I had heard great things about Dr. Paul and set up a wellness exam with him. The exam was great and the price was very reasonable.
  
  A couple of months later my 10 year old Mastiff developed a growth on his eye. Needless to say I was worried and wanted it looked at ASAP. Dr. Paul got me in and took a look at the growth. He explained the various options and we decided on a wait and see approach. I was very appreciative that he did not push surgery immediately on a 10 year old large breed dog.
  
  The growth did not change for a few weeks and then out of nowhere it suddenly grew. I immediately called in and requested a date for surgery and we got it booked. One day after surgery my pup's eye looked awesome and he was feeling great!
  
  Although money is not the first consideration when it comes to my dogs care, it is still a relevant factor. The price of the surgery was very reasonable. I have paid over 4k for a surgery at a specialty veterinary hospital so this was definitely a breath of fresh air! I can't thank Dr. Paul and all the staff at Randall Road Animal Hospital enough!!!!
